Silabus merupakan program pembelajaran yang menjadi dasar untuk membuat Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Pada implementasi Kurikulum 2013 guru-guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) tak perlu repot lagi untuk membuat silabus. Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Balitbang) Kemendikbud telah mempersiapkan Silabus. Dalam proses penyusunannya melibatkan para guru, dosen dan ahli pendidikan. Silabus Kurikulum 2013 untuk SD tersebut dapat didownload secara lengkap.

Kurikulum 2013 menggunakan metode tematik integratif, yaitu dalam pembelajaran menggunakan tema untuk mengaitkan beberapa materi ajar. Setiap kelas disediakan beberapa tema dan subtema yang terdiri dari beberapa pembelajaran.
